How it works

Three steps. About two minutes.

It costs you nothing, and nobody phones you unless you ask them to.

  1. 1

    Tell us about your car

What you drive, where you park it, and how old you are. That is enough to work out a price.

  2. 2

    See what it should cost

We show you the price range for someone like you, and how each insurer treats people who claim.

  3. 3

    Choose who may call you

Tick the insurers you want a quote from. Only those get your details. Nobody else.

What the record shows

When a claim goes wrong, somebody keeps score

If your insurer turns down a claim and you think that is unfair, you can take it to the National Financial Ombud for free. Every one of those complaints is recorded and published, which makes it the only honest public measure of how insurers treat people who claim.

The insurers people complained about most

Out of every 100 complaints the Ombud closed, this is how many ended with the customer getting something back. Bigger insurers naturally appear more often, so the number of complaints on its own says very little.

What this does not tell you

A low number can mean an insurer got things right the first time, or that it held its ground and people gave up. One figure cannot separate those, so treat this as a starting question rather than a verdict.

What we are adding

Licence standing from the FSCA register, and whether an insurer can afford to pay claims, from the solvency figures they file. Both are public. Neither is on this page until we have checked it properly.

National Financial Ombud Scheme, Annual Report 2025, 2025. Checked 26 September 2026. Across all non-life insurers, 16.5 in 100 complaints ended in the customer’s favour.

Your car is worth less than it was and your risk profile has probably changed. It takes two minutes to find out what that should be costing you now.
